What is the Web....
With a form of the internet in place, and availablility of a PC to the general user, the use of the internet began to grow, especially in the late 1980's and within academic settings. In 1992, a guy named Tim Berners-Lee established what would soon become the World Wide Web. Note Mr. Gore was not invovled here either. Browsers were developed to make it much easier for the average person to access and use the internet. As browsers were improved to the point where a person could 'point and click', everyone with a computer wanted on the web resulting in a tremendous explosion in the use and availablity of the web to the masses.
Now internet access is almost as common as the telephone. The internet is a tremendous source of information (and I might add, mis-information). Email is almost expected of everyone. We certainly have come a long ways in just a few short years. Now it is almost expected that any viable business will have a web site - at least an informational site if not more.
